Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site assessments to determine optimal solar panel placement and system design based on energy needs and site conditions.
- Install solar panels, racking systems, inverters, and other electrical components, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and building codes.
- Perform electrical wiring and connections, including AC and DC circuits, ensuring proper grounding and voltage levels.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions, using diagnostic tools to identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance and preventative checks, including cleaning panels, inspecting wiring, and verifying system performance.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Document all installations, maintenance, and repair activities, including detailed records of work performed and materials used.
- Educate customers on solar system operation, maintenance, and energy efficiency best practices.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and changes in electrical codes and regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in solar panel installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Prior experience in the residential or commercial solar industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring practices, and electrical codes (NEC).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
