Roles & Responsibilities

About the Role

We are partnering exclusively with a regulated fintech/blockchain platform in Dubai to identify a Senior Tech Lead / Solutions Architect. This is a confidential, high-impact leadership role reporting directly to senior management. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between technical execution and regulatory compliance, ensuring the platform's architecture meets the highest standards for licensing, auditability, and scalability.

You will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of a multi-product ecosystem, working closely with engineering teams, compliance officers, and external regulators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Architecture: Translate complex regulatory requirements (KYC/AML, licensing, VARA/DFSA frameworks) into scalable, secure technical architecture.

  • License Applications: Lead the drafting and review of technical sections for regulatory license submissions.

  • Compliance-First Systems: Design and oversee implementation of systems for audit trails, regulatory reporting, and Know Your Transaction (KYT) integrations.

  • Smart Contract Governance: Review and approve smart contract architecture to ensure alignment with security standards and regulatory expectations.

  • Infrastructure Strategy: Architect and optimize infrastructure across a multi-product ecosystem (exchange, tokenization, custody, payments) leveraging cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.

  • Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with product, legal, compliance, and engineering teams to embed compliance into the development lifecycle.

  • Documentation: Maintain high-quality technical and regulatory documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Candidate Profile

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development, infrastructure, or solutions architecture within financial services (fintech, banking, payments).

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements including KYC/AML, licensing, and compliance frameworks.

  • Proven ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical architecture and system design.

  • Excellent documentation skills, both technical and regulatory.

  • Conceptual knowledge of blockchain technology and smart contracts.

  • Professional proficiency in English (C1 or higher) for direct communication with regulators and stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with VARA, MiCA, or FCA regulatory submissions.

  • Background working in a licensed crypto exchange or tokenization platform.

  • DevOps and infrastructure expertise (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes).

  • Legal tech or compliance automation experience.
