Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Solution Architect to support the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale Geospatial Digital Twin programme for a major national infrastructure owner in the Middle East. This multi-year initiative will design, build, and operationalize an Operational Digital Twin platform that integrates geospatial data, real-time IoT/SCADA feeds, asset information, and core enterprise systems to enable data-driven planning, operations, and maintenance. The role will work closely with the Product Manager and a team of international experts, architects, developers, and engineers.

The scope spans discovery and stakeholder engagement, architecture and design, proof-of-concept delivery, implementation of a production-grade environment, post-implementation support, and structured training and knowledge transfer. The Solution Architect will help define and validate the end-to-end solution architecture, coordinate application, integration, and data design, support non-functional requirements and security, and assist in ensuring that the Digital Twin platform is scalable, robust, and aligned with enterprise and operational needs.

What You ll Be Doing

  • Support the Product Manager in defining and maintaining the end-to-end solution architecture for the Operational Digital Twin across discovery, PoC, implementation, and post-implementation support phases.
  • Assist in translating business and use-case requirements into logical and physical architectures, including application, integration, data, and infrastructure views.
  • Help guide the design of key platform components (web and GIS applications, APIs, data services, analytics/AI components) and ensure that they are cohesive, reusable, and aligned with agreed architecture principles and patterns.
  • Support the Integration Lead, Programmers, and other technical resources in defining and implementing integration approaches between the Digital Twin and enterprise/operational systems (e.g., EAM/CMMS, ERP, BIM, SCADA/IoT, GIS, data platforms).
  • Assist in defining and validating non-functional requirements (performance, availability, scalability, security, resilience) and in coordinating related design and testing activities with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams.
  • Help prepare and maintain architecture documentation, interface specifications, and design decision records, and support design reviews and technical governance with Parsons and client stakeholders.

What Required Skills You ll Bring

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Experience contributing to solution design or architecture for large-scale digital, platform, or integration-heavy solutions, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or urban environments.
  • Working knowledge of multi-tier and cloud-based architectures, APIs and integrations, data platforms, and web/GIS applications.
  • Basic understanding of enterprise and operational systems such as EAM/CMMS, ERP, BIM, SCADA/IoT platforms, GIS, and data warehouses/lakes, and how they interact within an enterprise landscape.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and to common architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven integration, API-led connectivity).
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary, multinational teams across multiple time zones.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and coordination skills, with some experience in structured project or delivery environments (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile/Hybrid).
  • Exposure to testing, acceptance, or go-live activities for complex or integrated solutions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate architectural options and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.

What Desired Skills You ll Bring

  • Prior work with national infrastructure owners, transport authorities, utilities, or public works organisations.
  • Experience working on Digital Twin, smart city, or large-scale geospatial programmes.
  • Familiarity with security and data-governance considerations in solution architecture, and experience collaborating with cybersecurity and data-governance teams.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, containerisation, and DevOps practices for deploying and operating complex platforms.
  • Professional certifications in architecture or cloud technologies (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect).

Desired Candidate Profile
