Position Overview
Atlantis The Royal is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join the award-winning team at La Mar. The role requires an expert in wine service who can provide professional recommendations, manage the restaurant s wine program, and deliver an extraordinary guest experience. Working closely with the Assistant General Manager and culinary team, the Sommelier will ensure wine selections complement the restaurant s authentic menu, maintaining the high standards of Atlantis Dubai s luxury dining reputation.

Key Responsibilities

* Curate, maintain, and update the restaurant s wine list in collaboration with management.
* Recommend wines that pair perfectly with the menu and suit guests preferences.
* Serve wines at the correct temperature using appropriate glassware and service techniques.
* Monitor wine inventory, conduct stock rotations, and ensure proper storage conditions.
* Manage ordering, receiving, and documentation for all wine and beverage stock.
* Train and educate the service team on wine knowledge, pairing, and proper service standards.
* Engage with guests confidently, offering expert advice and personalized recommendations.
* Support upselling initiatives through guest engagement and exceptional service presentation.
* Maintain compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards within the restaurant.
* Collaborate with chefs, mixologists, and management to create beverage pairings for events and promotions.

Ideal Profile

* Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
* Certified to at least WSET Level 2 (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) or equivalent qualification.
* In-depth knowledge of international wines, spirits, and beverage pairings.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage guests effectively.
* Proven ability to manage inventory and supplier relationships.
* Passion for hospitality with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
* Excellent grooming, presentation, and attention to detail.
* Fluency in English; additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Italian are an advantage.
