Key Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Performs ultrasound examinations including ultrasonography of the abdomen, pelvis, obstetric & breast.

2. Submits the images to the radiologist for discussion and reporting.

3. Calls the radiologist for consultation during the examination in difficult cases.

4. Responsible for correct identification of patients and site of examination.

5. Explains the procedure and instructs the patient in assuming physical position for examination.

6. Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to the organ to be examined.

7. Keys patient information into ultrasound equipment to maintain record of images.

8. Records the images on the machine and transfer it to PACS.

9. Responsible for recording the details of the patient to the logbook.

10. Keeps ultrasound rooms in a neat and orderly appearance at all times.

11. Assists radiologist in performing special procedures such as biopsy or drainage.

12. Maintains knowledge in all sterile techniques and nursing procedures necessary in the area of ultrasound.

13. Responsible for knowing all the Fakeeh Health Care facility rules and necessary procedures and handling an

emergency situation.

14. Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.

Able to clearly communicate with patients and their families, physicians and nonmedical staff.
