Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and experienced South Indian Cook to join our culinary team. As a South Indian Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and executing a wide variety of authentic South Indian dishes, ensuring high-quality meals that delight our guests' palates. The perfect candidate will have a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, adhere to health and safety standards, and maintain a clean working area. Your passion for cooking and your commitment to providing excellent dining experiences is invaluable to us. Responsibilities
- Create authentic South Indian dishes following traditional recipes and methods.
- Prepare and cook a range of South Indian curries, snacks, and desserts.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace at all times.
- Ensure the availability of all necessary ingredients and cooking supplies.
- Comply with all food safety and sanitation regulations diligently.
- Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions when needed.
- Assist in menu development offering new and creative dish ideas.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and assistants effectively.
- Manage portion control and minimize food waste efficiently.
- Monitor food stock levels and order supplies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Evaluate the quality of ingredients and finished products consistently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a cook specializing in South Indian cuisine.
- In-depth knowledge of South Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Excellent culinary skills with a focus on taste and presentation.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices imperative.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts as required.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
