Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate South Indian Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of traditional South Indian cuisine and will be adept at preparing a variety of dishes that capture the authentic flavors and essences of Southern India. This role demands creativity, precision, and an understanding of spice and seasoning combinations characteristic of South Indian cooking. Your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of food presentation and taste will be essential. Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present authentic South Indian dishes consistently and efficiently.
  • Ensure the highest quality of food presentation and flavor in all dishes served.
  • Oversee the inventory and ordering of spices, ingredients, and kitchen supplies.
  • Adapt and create new South Indian recipes based on current trends and customer feedback.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, following health and safety regulations diligently daily.
  • Manage cooking procedures ensuring all dishes meet established timing standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain a seamless and productive kitchen workflow.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on South Indian cooking techniques.
  • Monitor and control food waste to optimize kitchen resource management.
  • Collaborate with management to plan special menu items and seasonal offerings.
  • Engage with customers to receive feedback and improve culinary offerings.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly at all times.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a South Indian Cook or relevant role in the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional South Indian culinary techniques and cuisine.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of South Indian dishes.
  • Strong understanding of the spice palette typical to South Indian cooking.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with high focus.
  • Possess excellent time management and organizational skills in kitchen settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members.
