Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Spanish teaching across the Secondary School and Sixth Form. You will inspire students to develop language proficiency, cultural understanding, and global awareness through an engaging and forward-thinking curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver outstanding Spanish lessons that are engaging, challenging, and inclusive.
- Develop high-quality schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with UK curriculum standards.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to enhance pupil learning.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support pupils academic growth.
- Prepare students for external examinations, including GCSE and A Level Spanish.
Pupil Enrichment
- Lead and support extracurricular activities such as language clubs, cultural events, competitions, and trips.
- Inspire pupils to explore global languages and cultural pathways.
Pastoral Responsibilities
- Contribute to pupils holistic development through pastoral care.
- Participate in co-curricular and enrichment activities across the school.
Curriculum Development
- Design engaging learning activities that deepen understanding and promote communication skills.
- Develop creative, high-quality subject-specific resources.
- Assist in sourcing and managing specialist materials.
- Ensure strong vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
- Analyse pupil progress data and act to ensure outstanding outcomes.
- Review practice regularly and engage in continuous professional development.

Essential (E) / Desirable (D)
- Excellent working knowledge of Spanish curriculum (E)
- High levels of subject knowledge (E)
- Minimum two years relevant teaching experience (E)
- Experience teaching GCSE and A Level Spanish (E)
- Ability to inspire students and stretch the most able while supporting all learners (E)
- Recognised teaching qualification (E)
- Good degree in Spanish or related field (E)
- Strong organisational, communication, and teamwork skills (E)
- Commitment to contributing to all aspects of school life (E)
- Experience with students who have English as an Additional Language (D)
- Experience working in independent schools (D)
