Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive educational and psychological assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and specific learning needs. Interpret psychological evaluations and integrate findings into educational planning.

-Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) based on assessment data, curriculum standards, and student needs, incorporating psychological principles to address learning and behavioral goals.

-Provide direct, specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and differentiated strategies. Facilitate small group and individual sessions focused on academic skills, social-emotional development, and behavioral regulation.

-Develop and implement positive behavior support plans (PBSP) informed by psychological principles, addressing challenging behaviors and promoting self-regulation and social skills.

-Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, parents/guardians, related service providers (e.g., therapists, counselors), and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive educational experience for students. Maintain clear and consistent communication regarding student progress and needs.

-Stay current with best practices in special education and psychology through ongoing professional development, research, and collaboration with colleagues.
