Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Maintain departmental operational standards, driving continuous improvement, compliance, and achievement of performance targets.
Develop and refine procedures, resolving complex DG issues by applying sound judgment and implementing effective solutions.
Provide technical guidance and support to commercial and operational teams; deliver and support regional training to build DG competence.
Coordinate with the Validation Center (KC Poland) to secure timely DG approvals and guide booking stakeholders on validation processes.
Consolidate and verify cargo information in FIS against terminal data to ensure accuracy for approved shipments.
Prepare and issue DG Summaries and the HAZ file, confirming or adjusting stowage and segregation instructions in line with standards.
Apply the 4-Eyes principle to DG bookings, stowage, and segregation to safeguard accuracy and compliance.
Act as the key contact for DG-related communication, including shore-to-ship support and emergency response when required.
Desired Candidate Profile
Diploma or degree in Maritime, Logistics, or Transport Science.
At least 3 years of professional experience in shipping or logistics operations, preferably with exposure to Dangerous Goods handling.
Strong command of written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
Solid working knowledge of the IMDG Code and its application in daily operations.
Familiarity with DG documentation requirements and validation processes.
Basic awareness of 49CFR and ADR regulations relevant to shipping.
General understanding of shipping operations and regulatory frameworks.
Awareness of main DG cargo categories, associated risks, and handling requirements.
Knowledge of CTU packing principles, including securing and safety guidelines.
Awareness of stowage and segregation practices, with the ability to escalate complex cases.
Flexibility to work beyond standard office hours when required by operational demands.
Occasional travel within or outside the region may be required to support DG training, workshops, or operational needs.
