Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Ensure support for the new services from policy development to airworthiness, licensing, certification, and regulation such as drones and drone operators and emerging aviation technologies and threats.

Provide relevant expertise on various new technologies and cyber knowledge and transition this into core business activity

Ensure handling the certification for (non-passenger carrying) commercial/government drones and the activities addressing cyber security and emerging technologies

Collaborate with external stakeholders to progress on issues related to drone operations in the UAE as well for the ongoing threat assessments against emerging aviation technologies.

Maintain a database of the latest aviation-related technology initiatives from industry leaders and participate in relevant events and exhibitions

Ensure monitoring of the emerging technologies and their applied solutions and learn from other experiences on the adoption of these emerging technologies.

Research, exploit, and analyze the operational data for maintaining and enhancing operation & and development into the phase of automated and autonomous operations for Advanced Air Mobility

Conduct research with stakeholders and institutes regarding single pilot operations for commercial air transport operations in coordination with the Flight Operations Department

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of advanced air mobility (AAM) systems, processes, and practices, considering AAM best practices, AAM business process improvement, AAM cost reduction, and AAM productivity improvement.

Coordination with internal and external stakeholders such as; UAE Airforce, ANSPs, and other relevant stakeholders for the integration of advanced air mobility in the national airspace.

Coordination with the Airspace section and relevant stakeholders, a plan to reform the UAE airspace to provide effective, efficient, safe, secure, accessible, and flexible airspace to meet the demand for initial operations and future aviation growth for advanced air mobility.

Develop Digital Flight Rules (DFR) with stakeholders and research institutes at various stages of advanced air mobility maturity to ensure sustainable and safe operations with autonomy

Coordinate with the relevant ministries' federal legislations to govern interstate passenger travel and cargo by advanced air mobility to ensure the growth of industry.

Ensure compliance with the international regulations and best practices in AAM regulations and implement operational and safe-related improvements.

Ensure that the UAE aviation industry has access to all pertinent documents based on their needs.

Coordinate the development of internal standards, documents, and procedures with relevant business units to ensure compliance with regulations

Coordination with ATD agreements with neighbouring countries for advanced air mobility aircraft carrying passengers, goods, and cargo across international borders

Implement Safety Management activities to ensure that risks, hazards, and changes are managed appropriately with the appropriate departments/sectors and stakeholders.

Identify the operational environment's potential risks and system limitations to devise contingency and mitigation plans

Act as an expert matter and assist with the investigations of incidents and accidents, as required in coordination with AAIS

Interface closely with the Cyber Security committee to potential threats from the cyber security perspective

Maintain a comprehensive record of relevant certifications, reports, recommendations, and general documents to ensure an accurate record and evidence base.

Assist the management in maintaining ongoing liaison with UAE civil aviation stakeholders to ensure a safe communication channel for implementing new risk control mechanisms

Implement Safety Affairs policies, systems, processes, and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high-quality safety services to the UAE civil aviation industry in accordance with customer service standards.

Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet GCAA requirements and quality standards

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services, and a responsible environmental attitude as per IMS available standards

Perform additional tasks relevant to the role/area of expertise as requested by the management to be able to achieve the objectives/commitments.
