Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Assessment and Diagnosis

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, voice, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Use standardized tests, clinical observations, and instrumental evaluations (e.g., FEES, video fluoroscopy where applicable).
  • Diagnose speech-language impairments and swallowing difficulties and document clinical findings.

2. Treatment Planning and Therapy

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and patient needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy for conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, dysphagia, voice disorders, stammering, and cognitive-communication deficits.
  • Implement strategies to support communication and feeding, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems when necessary.

3. Swallowing and Dysphagia Management

  • Evaluate and manage dysphagia patients, including dietary modifications and compensatory techniques.
  • Work with dietitians, nurses, and physicians to ensure safe feeding strategies.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on techniques and precautions.

4. Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to coordinate care for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, families, and external support services.
  • Provide guidance and training to nursing and care staff on communication and swallowing support.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation of assessments, treatment goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Prepare reports for referring physicians, insurers, and other relevant parties as required.

6. Patient and Family Education

  • Educate patients and their families about communication techniques, home programs, and ongoing care.
  • Offer support and counseling to families dealing with complex communication and swallowing issues.

7. Professional Development and Compliance

  • Stay updated with the latest research, best practices, and continuing education in speech-language pathology.
  • Adhere to clinical governance, ethical guidelines, and infection control procedures.
  • Comply with licensing and registration requirements (e.g., NHRA in Bahrain or equivalent regulatory body).

  • NHRA licensed
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in a clinical setting
  • With NHRA / Data Flow
  • Available to join immediately
