Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities / accountabilities:

  • Carries out assessment of individuals within the service in relation to communication need using assessment tools as required by the individual, making use of senior support as required.
  • Formulates interventions plans from thorough assessment with individuals and their family and caregivers as required to bring about positive change to their communication skills and through that develop their opportunities to access, and engage in a range of life experiences.
  • To make positive use of clinical supervision to develop and quality check decisions made.
  • To access and utilize the most contemporary relevant research and evidence base to support decision making in the clinical setting.
  • To ensure that support is sought as required to ensure that theory and practice are interlinked.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Speech Pathology or in any related field.

Competencies:

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a high level of organization for file maintenance, daily, weekly and monthly record keeping.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of work experience as an SLT Therapist working with individuals who have autism spectrum and communication disorders.
