Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations using standardized and informal assessments to diagnose communication disorders accurately.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, setting measurable goals, and tracking patient progress for effective therapy.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, educators, and families, to ensure holistic patient care and support.
- Provide direct therapy services to patients of all ages, adapting techniques to meet diverse needs, including articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders.
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies, home practice activities, and strategies to maximize communication effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Stay current with the latest research, evidence-based practices, and advancements in speech-language pathology to enhance clinical skills.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain licensure and expand knowledge base.
- Adhere to ethical standards and legal requirements, ensuring patient confidentiality and practicing within the scope of practice.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to speech-language pathology assistants or clinical fellows, as needed.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Holds a valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrates expertise in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of communication disorders across the lifespan.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic or other languages is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
