Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze cost reports and costing audits to ensure accurate product costing and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor and review inventory transactions, ensuring proper valuation and reconciliation with the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to collect and analyze production costs, variances, and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed cost analysis and recommendations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of standard costs and update as necessary to reflect current production realities.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations related to cost accounting.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management on cost trends, margin analysis, and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize cost structures and support strategic business decisions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a related accounting role.

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment, preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or FMCG.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles, practices, and reporting standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all financial matters.
