Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
SR. ENGINEER (EQUIPMENT)
Responsible to ensure that fleet are repaired in time as per the priority laid down.
In case of performing the duties of Owner, duties of Transport Manager is also applicable. Allocation of suitable mechanics to undertake the repairs and also brief them on expected time of completion of repair.
Study the Inspectors report and explain to the Mechanics before proceeding with the repairs. Monitor repairs closely and ensure special attention to critical and priority cases. Assesses the spares requirement and prepare requisition for submission to the spare parts stores taking into account the possibility of cannibalization/ fabrication for long delivery item.
Close supervision of actual repairs and guiding the mechanics to ensure quality of repairs.
On completion of all repairs, check the work done and produce the Equipment for "out" inspection. A thorough functional test is to be carried out before presenting to the Inspector for inspection.
Bring to the notice of Equipment Manager cases of misuse/ neglect.
