Key Responsibilities:
Planning & Coordination:
- Develop and review lifting plans and method statements (RAMS).
- Coordinate with contractors, crane operators, riggers, and site supervisors to ensure safe lifting operations.
- Participate in pre-lift meetings and risk assessments.
Compliance & Oversight:
- Ensure all lifting activities comply with relevant safety standards and project specifications.
- Verify that lifting equipment is certified, inspected, and fit for use.
- Monitor lifting operations and intervene when unsafe practices are observed.
Documentation & Approval:
- Approve lifting plans and associated documentation before work commencement.
- Maintain records of lifting operations, inspections, and incidents.
Training & Communication:
- Provide guidance and training to site teams on lifting safety.
- Act as the primary HSE point of contact for lifting-related activities.
Incident Management:
- Support investigations of lifting-related incidents and near misses.
- Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key skills:
- Strong understanding of lifting equipment, rigging techniques, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and lifting plans.
- Proficient in MS Office and relevant planning software.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with MMUP/UPDA registration
- Certified Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (e.g., CPCS A61, LEEA or equivalent).
- Valid HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in lifting operations within construction or industrial projects.
- Proven track record of managing complex and high-risk lifting activities.
