Job Overview:

The Sr. Pipe Welder will be responsible for performing high-quality welding work on piping systems in accordance with engineering drawings, codes, and specifications. The role requires precision. Welding using various processes, ensuring the integrity of weld joints, and maintaining safety and quality standards across all piping projects.

Job Role & Responsibilities:

• Perform welding of pipes and fittings using SMAW, GTAW, and other approved welding processes.

• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, weld maps, and material specifications.

• Carry out welding in different positions (1G–6G) as per project requirements.

• Ensure all welding activities comply with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

• Inspect and repair welds as necessary based on visual and non-destructive testing results.

• Maintain proper setup, calibration, and handling of welding machines and tools.

• Coordinate with supervisors and fitters to ensure accuracy in joint preparation and alignment.

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness in the work area.

• Assist in the training and guidance of junior welders when required.

• Adhere strictly to company HSE procedures and participate in safety programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Technical Diploma or Trade Certificate in Welding or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a pipe welder in oil & gas, shipyard, or industrial fabrication projects.

• Must be proficient in SMAW and GTAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipes.

• Experience with ASME and AWS welding standards preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols and engineering drawings.

• Certified welder with valid welding qualification (WQT) preferred.
