Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
Develop project schedules and execution strategies
Coordinate with project managers to align engineering deliverables with timelines
Monitor construction progress and resolve technical issues on-site
Technical Oversight
Ensure all engineering works comply with approved designs and standards
Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals
Provide technical guidance to site engineers and supervisors
Manage design changes and value engineering proposals
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and clients
Conduct technical meetings and progress reviews
Ensure proper communication between design and construction teams
Quality Assurance & Control
Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with project specs
Conduct inspections and audits of ongoing works
Ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Participate in risk assessments and safety planning
Promote a strong safety culture on-site
Cost & Resource Management
Assist in cost estimation and budget monitoring
Track material usage and reduce wastage
Support procurement and vendor evaluations
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain project documentation (drawings, reports, RFIs, submittals)
Prepare progress reports and technical reports
Track and manage change orders and claims
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
Experience
8–15 years in construction/project engineering
Experience in large-scale projects (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure)
Skills
Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials
Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering software
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities
