Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities)

  • Develop project schedules and execution strategies

  • Coordinate with project managers to align engineering deliverables with timelines

  • Monitor construction progress and resolve technical issues on-site

Technical Oversight

  • Ensure all engineering works comply with approved designs and standards

  • Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals

  • Provide technical guidance to site engineers and supervisors

  • Manage design changes and value engineering proposals

Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and clients

  • Conduct technical meetings and progress reviews

  • Ensure proper communication between design and construction teams

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with project specs

  • Conduct inspections and audits of ongoing works

  • Ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies

  • Participate in risk assessments and safety planning

  • Promote a strong safety culture on-site

Cost & Resource Management

  • Assist in cost estimation and budget monitoring

  • Track material usage and reduce wastage

  • Support procurement and vendor evaluations

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain project documentation (drawings, reports, RFIs, submittals)

  • Prepare progress reports and technical reports

  • Track and manage change orders and claims

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)

Experience

  • 8–15 years in construction/project engineering

  • Experience in large-scale projects (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure)

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials

  • Familiarity with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering software

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
