Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for cost management, BOQ preparation, and contract administration for assigned projects.
  • Develop and implement cost control strategies and procedures to optimize project costs and minimize expenses.
  • Conduct cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accurate cost estimations and monitoring actual costs against budgets.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Administer contracts, review and negotiate contract terms, pricing, and variations in collaboration with legal and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, monitor contractor performance, and manage claims or change orders.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, conduct prequalification, and participate in vendor selection processes.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships, monitor compliance, and review/approve vendor invoices and payments.
  • Generate regular reports on project costs, cost variances, contract performance, and provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather cost data, validate expenses, and provide guidance on cost-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field ( Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects, preferably in the UAE .
  • In-depth knowledge of cost control principles, preparation of BOQ, contract management, and project management.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to analyze cost data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in cost control software, project management tools, and financial analysis software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in cost calculations, contract administration, and documentation.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work on remote sites in Liwa, Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi.
