Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct research on global, regional, and local market trends that impact OQBI s business in the production and business development sectors.
- Identify market opportunities, potential risks, and areas for growth. Regularly provide market intelligence reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management.
- Track and analyze competitor activities, market positioning, and product offerings.
- Assist in forecasting economic and market conditions, including supply-demand dynamics, price trends, and regulatory changes.
Competitive Intelligence:
- Gather and analyze competitive intelligence to track competitors strategies, pricing, and market behavior.
- Provide insights into competitor strengths, weaknesses, and potential future actions.
- Support the identification of emerging threats and opportunities in the competitive landscape.
Strategic Decision Support:
- Collaborate with senior management and business development teams to ensure market intelligence is integrated into strategic planning.
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decisions, including partnerships, expansions, and new market opportunities.
- Assist in developing business cases for new initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, or new product lines.
Collaboration & Data Management:
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g., Business Development, Sales, Production, R&D) to share and leverage market insights.
- Work with external stakeholders such as consultants, industry experts, and market research firms to gather relevant data and insights.
- Collect, organize, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and relevance to business needs.
- Develop and maintain reports that track market performance and identify new opportunities for growth.
Key interactions
Internal: Senior Leadership, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Production Teams, R&D, Operations.
External: Consultants, Industry Experts, Market Research Firms, Competitors, Suppliers, Regulatory Bodies.
Notable Working Conditions . Office environment, intensive computer screen use, sporadic visits to operation site.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (required).
Advanced Degree (MBA, MSc) or certifications in Market Intelligence or Data Analytics (preferred for Senior Levels).
Language Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)
Experience:
Sr. Specialist: 8+ years of relevant experience
Understanding of the global oil & gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
Familiarity with market dynamics, pricing strategies, regulatory frameworks, and competitive intelligence tools.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills across internal teams and with external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to think strategically and synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of market research methodologies and tools.
- Ability to manage and analyze large datasets and produce comprehensive reports and insight
