Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Implement and monitor OHS programs in line with the Oman Labour Law and OSH regulations (including risk assessments, method statements, PPE, ergonomics, electrical safety, driving safety, lone working, hot work, and permit to work as applicable)

Coordinate compliance with applicable fire prevention/protection requirements (alarms, detection, suppression, access/egress, emergency lighting, signage). Plan periodic inspections, testing, and maintenance with facility teams and vendors; document drill outcomes and improvements.

Develop emergency response procedures and conduct training, drills, and incident simulations

Monitor & reduce environmental impact, including emission, waste management, & energy use

Ensure environmental compliance during projects (method statements, contractor controls) and in data centre operations (fuel handling, gensets, refrigerants, wastewater)

Promote environmental awareness and sustainability practices within operations and suppliers

Conduct routine inspections of offices, warehouses, labs, workshops, and data centres (UPS/battery rooms, generators, fuel systems) and of field installation works (cabinets, towers, fibre/copper works)

Liaise with Ministry of Labour OSH inspectors and other authorities as required; maintain statutory records (risk assessments, monitoring, incidents, training, medical fitness and exposure records).

Maintain documentation, dashboards, and reports on performance indicators and incident statistics

Maintain legal register and compliance calendar for QHSE; perform gap analyses and ensure timely closure of findings.

Conduct risk assessments and safety audits of operations, facilities, and fieldwork sites

Develop training content and deliver awareness programs to employees and contractors

Foster a proactive QHSE culture through communication campaigns and leadership engagement

Recognise safe behaviours; coach supervisors and project leads to own QHSE outcomes.

Provide QHSE onboarding for new hires and support wellbeing initiatives (DSE/ergonomics, stress management, indoor air quality, vaccination campaigns).

Investigate safety incidents, near misses, and non-compliance issues

Recommend corrective and preventive actions, and ensure closure and documentation

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent required.

Lead Auditor/Implementer in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 preferred.

First Aid and Fire Warden/Marshal certification preferred.

5 8 years of QHSE experience, including at least 3 years in ICT, telecoms, data centres, facilities management, or industrial projects in the GCC/Oman.

Proven experience implementing or maintaining ISO 9001/14001/45001 and managing contractor HSE on multi site operations.

Strong knowledge of Oman labour and OSH requirements, environmental and fire safety obligations, and ISO standards.

Practical expertise in risk assessment (HIRA/JSA), PTW, incident investigation and RCA, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, electrical and working at height safety, and waste/e waste management.

Ability to develop policies/SOPs, conduct training, lead audits, and analyze trends and KPIs.

Proficient with MS Office and HSE/quality management software; strong reporting and communication skills in English (Arabic an advantage).
