Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Staff Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving daily meals for staff while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness. The role ensures nutritious, timely, and cost-effective meals in a safe and organized kitchen environment.


KEY Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook daily meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements

  • Plan simple menus and suggest variations to avoid repetition

  • Ensure food is prepared on time and served at appropriate temperatures

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, utensils, and food storage areas

  • Monitor food inventory and report items that need replenishment

  • Store food properly to prevent spoilage and contamination

  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times

  • Control portion sizes and minimize food waste

  • Clean kitchen equipment and work areas after each shift

  • Assist with special meal requests when required

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a cook or kitchen staff (formal training is an advantage)

  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards

  • Ability to prepare meals for groups efficiently

  • Good time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods

  • Trustworthy, reliable, and detail-oriented

  • Professional, flexible, zero attitude and positive.

  • Immaculate hygiene must.

  • Should be courteous and respectful throughout your interactions with members in the family.

  • Pleasant and polite interactions with other staff members.

  • Excellent references
