Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Standby Man ensures safe execution of activities inside Confined Spaces such as tanks, vessels, columns, and pits by monitoring entry/exit and ensuring PTW compliance.
Manage entry & exit log register of all workers inside the confined space
Ensure full compliance of permit gas testing validity, ventilation & lighting
Communicate continuously with safety officer, permit holder & rescue team
Raise alarms in case of oxygen depletion, gas alarm, or emergency situation
Prevent unauthorized entry & ensure PPE compliance
Assist in rescue operations during emergencies
Tools & Equipment Knowledge
- Gas monitors (LEL, O , H S)
- Ventilation blowers & air ducts
- Tripod & winch safety systems (awareness)
- Radios/Walkie-Talkies

10th / ITI / Diploma
3 6 years of experience in confined space activities in Oil & Gas plants
Shutdown experience preferred
