Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervise STATCOM installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor substation performance and ensure proper integration with turbines and grid systems.
  • Conduct or oversee testing, troubleshooting, and configuration of STATCOM devices and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure protection & control coordination, including relays, transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear.
  • Maintain safety compliance (LOTO, HV procedures, HSE standards).
  • Prepare technical reports, commissioning logs, and work certifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and supervision to field engineers and technicians.

Required Skills & Experience:


  • Hands-on STATCOM / SVC commissioning experience (MV/HV substations).
  • Experience with turbine integration (gas or steam) and generator synchronization.
  • Strong understanding of HV substation equipment, protective relays, SCADA, and control systems.
  • Experience with OEMs such as GE Grid Solutions, Siemens, ABB, or Merus Power.
  • Relevant experience in power projects, substations, or turbine commissioning.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
