Roles & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF DUTY:

Steward is responsible for ensuring the kitchen/Service equipment, all surfaces, serving ware, dish ware are clean and sanitized, and waste disposal as needed.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATION:
Ensure Team members adhere to all Health & Safety and Hygiene regulations
Ensure Machinery is operated properly, efficiently, safely and in accordance with the Manufacturer instructions
Ensure the correct PPE is in place and adhere to
Support the team in daily operations
Supervise the stewards ensuring high standards
Ensure BOH/FOH areas are maintained to the highest cleanliness standards and cleaning schedules are followed and completed
Coordinate the daily post wash and dish wash responsibilities
Report and record all misused or damaged equipment issues to Management, Head Chef.
Assist in stock take of equipment and other assets
Assist in the location, movement and storage of equipment and Chemicals following rules and regulations,
Observe Health & Safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances and comply with all aspects of Health & Safety requirements
Schedule special and deep cleaning projects
Manage waste protocol
To observe the Company s rules and procedures and carry out any reasonable request made by their Manager, Supervisor, or the Duty Manager.
To be aware of your responsibilities in respect of Health and Safety at Work, following all procedures in this respect and reporting to management any hazardous situation or accident.
To attend training sessions and team meetings as required and to be involved and contribute to these.

ADMINISTRATION:
Implement all rules & regulations related to Hygiene & Safety

COMMUNICATION:
Report any missing or malfunctioning asset in the department
Establish and organize all information s related to hazardous risk

FINANCE:
Control and monitor cost of goods for Chemicals, waste, fuel.
Perform monthly inventory of all departmental consumables and equipment

GUESTS RELATION:
Ensure cleanliness of overall FOH & BOH

HR & TRAINING:
Properly communicate sensitive and serious issues to appropriate people
To act as a mentor for new joiners
Attend internal & External, training, product demonstration

Essential
Health & Safety Certification level 1
Fit for purpose certificate

Desirable
Basic Food Management Safety certification
Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety

Experience:

Essential
2-3 years in similar role

Desirable
Previous experience in similar operation type

Skills:

Essential
Arabic/English Speaking

Desirable
Able to lift moderate to heavy weight (in safe conditions)
