Stewarding Supervisor voco

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Stewarding Supervisor to support and supervise the stewarding team. The Stewarding Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in all kitchen and food preparation areas, ensuring that sanitation and hygiene standards are upheld at all times. This position helps coordinate dishwashing, kitchen support, and banquet operations to ensure seamless food and beverage service.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Supervise daily activities of stewarding staff, ensuring proper cleaning and sanitation of all kitchen utensils, dishware, cookware, and equipment.
• Assign duties and monitor staff performance to ensure high standards of cleanliness and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and food hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP).
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen and back-of-house areas, including storage rooms, garbage areas, and loading docks.
• Assist in the training and onboarding of new stewarding team members.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals, ensuring proper use and storage.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of stewarding support for banquet and catering events.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
• Control and minimize breakage and loss of kitchen equipment, glassware, and tableware.
• Support the Chief Steward or Executive Chef in maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 3 years of experience in stewarding, dishwashing, or kitchen sanitation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and food safety procedures.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, carrying).
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
