Job Description

The position of a Store Keeper in the construction sector is a critical role responsible for the efficient management of all project materials and tools. This involves overseeing the receiving, storing, and issuing of construction items in a systematic manner to ensure seamless operations. Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of construction materials into the storage system.
  • Ensure all materials stored are in good condition and properly organized for easy access.
  • Maintain an accurate and updated inventory database reflecting current stock levels.
  • Coordinate with project managers to identify material needs and ensure timely dispatch.
  • Implement effective loss prevention practices to minimize leakage and wastage of stock.
  • Ensure all storage areas are clean, organized, and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Allocate space for incoming materials and determine placement of new stock items.
  • Conduct regular audits and physical checks to verify stock integrity and availability.
  • Facilitate periodic stock-takes and promptly report discrepancies or deficits in inventory.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to manage and resolve restocking issues or delivery delays.
  • Maintain detailed records of stock movements, including incoming and outgoing material.
  • Support the preparation of procurement requests by providing accurate inventory data.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Store Keeper, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and basic Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound knowledge of construction materials, tools, and their respective storage conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to learn for efficient stock handling.
  • High attention to detail, especially when managing counts, records, and reports.
