Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Receive,inspect, and verify incoming materials, tools, and equipment against purchase orders and delivery notes to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Store and organize MEP materials (e.g., pipes, fittings, cables, HVAC components, and electrical items) in a systematic manner to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or inventory management software to track stock levels, issuances, and returns.
- Issue materials and tools to site workers and subcontractors as per project requirements and maintain issuance records.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy and report discrepancies to the site supervisor or project manager.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement teams to reorder materials to avoid shortages or project delays.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage, theft, or deterioration, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe site store environment in compliance with UAE health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and submit inventory reports, including stock status, consumption rates,and material usage, to project managers.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and engineers to understand material requirements and prioritize issuances based on project schedules.
- Verify the quality and condition of materials before issuance to ensure compliance with MEP project specifications.
- Manage the return of unused materials from the site and update inventory records accordingly.
- Ensure proper documentation of all store transactions, including receipts issuances, and returns, for audit purposes.
- Report any theft, loss, or damage of materials to the site manager immediately and maintain security of the store area.
- Assist in the disposal or return of defective or surplus materials as per company policies and project guidelines.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a Storekeeper, preferably in an MEP or construction company in Dubai or the UAE.
- Knowledge of MEP materials, such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC components, and their storage requirements.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or systems (e.g., SAP, Tally, or similar).
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for record-keeping and reporting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory tracking and documentation.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with site teams, suppliers, and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment and handle physical tasks, such as lifting and moving materials.
