Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Role & responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, tools, and equipment as per purchase orders and quality standards.
- Ensure safe storage and proper handling of materials used in vehicle manufacturing and armoring (e.g., steel plates, ballistic materials, automotive parts, fasteners, consumables).
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or manual systems, updating stock levels daily.
- Issue materials to production, fabrication, and assembly departments as per approved requisitions.
- Coordinate with the procurement and production teams to ensure material availability for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Implement and monitor FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and other inventory control practices.
- Conduct regular stock audits and physical verification to prevent loss or discrepancies.
- Label and organize storage areas for easy traceability and efficient movement of materials.
- Prepare Goods Received Notes (GRN), Material Issue Slips, and Stock Reports.
- Ensure compliance with export documentation and packaging standards for armored vehicle components.
- Monitor the condition of stored items and report damages or shortages immediately.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness in the store area according to company and industry standards.
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum Diploma / Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- 37 years of experience as a Storekeeper in a manufacturing or automotive industry (experience in armoring / defense manufacturing is an advantage).
- Sound knowledge of inventory management, documentation, and ERP systems (SAP, Tally, or similar).
- Understanding of engineering materials, spare parts, and fabrication items.
- Ability to handle high-value and sensitive materials used in armored vehicle manufacturing.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, Email).
