Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership as part of the senior management team, contributing to organizational planning, risk mitigation, and high-level decision-making to ensure alignment with Coptic Orphans' mission and sustainable growth.
  • Develop and implement a strategic engagement framework that communicates Coptic Orphans' vision and programs to diverse public audiences in Egypt.
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders - including government authorities, policymakers, donor agencies, UN bodies, private sector entities, academic institutions, media, and other development actors - to enhance credibility, visibility, and partnership opportunities.
  • Represent Coptic Orphans in national and international forums, policy dialogues, media engagements, and thought-leadership platforms to advance advocacy goals and strengthen the organization's reputation.
  • Monitor and navigate political, social, and economic trends in Egypt to inform strategy, ensure compliance with local regulations, and support effective program implementation.

Travel and Working Environment

  • Typical office environment such as walking, sitting, typing, using office equipment, and occasional lifting of boxes or luggage during travel.
  • Travel required domestically and internationally to sites where Coptic Orphans operates (approximately 15%).
  • This role requires frequent work outside the office, including participation in meetings, conferences, and field activities to engage with stakeholders and represent Coptic Orphans in various external settings. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required depending on events or engagements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Public Administration, International Relations, Management, or a related field, with at least 15 years of relevant experience in the nonprofit or governmental sector, including five years in a senior leadership role; OR a Master's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including five years in senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and positioning organizations within the development sector.
  • Experience with international public relations, communications strategies, and engagement with donor agencies, media organizations, and other development actors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Egypt's civil society, political context, and policy environment.
  • Proven ability to represent the organization through public speaking, high-level dialogues, and sensitive relationship management with diplomacy and cultural competence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
