Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Strategy & Operations Lead to serve as a direct extension of the CEO's office. This individual will be responsible for driving the execution of the company's highest-priority strategic initiatives, maintaining the operating rhythm of the business, and providing data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.

The role requires a unique combination of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and hands-on analytical capability. The successful candidate will be expected to move seamlessly between developing board-level materials, conducting detailed data analysis, and leading cross-functional initiatives across the Egypt business.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor and operational partner to the CEO, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into structured execution plans with defined owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead or co-lead high-impact strategic projects, including but not limited to pricing strategy, commercial model evolution, product rollouts, and partnership evaluations for the Egypt market.
  • Prepare board presentations, investor updates, and executive-level reporting with clear, data-backed narratives.
  • Attend leadership meetings, track decisions, and ensure follow-through across departments.
  • Own and continuously improve the internal operating cadence, including leadership meetings, OKR cycles, quarterly business reviews, and cross-functional coordination forums.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide the CEO and senior leadership with real-time visibility into commercial, product, and operational metrics.
  • Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and areas of underperformance, and escalate with recommended actions.
  • Independently extract, clean, and analyse data from internal databases using SQL to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Build and maintain financial and operational models in Excel or Google Sheets, including P&L scenario analysis, unit economics, pricing sensitivity, and cohort-level performance tracking.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of commercial performance, customer behaviour, funnel metrics, and competitive dynamics within the Egyptian market.
  • Synthesise complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Act as a connective layer between the CEO's office and functional teams - sales, product, marketing, finance, and operations - to ensure strategic alignment and remove execution barriers.
  • Identify and drive process improvements across the organisation to enhance efficiency and commercial effectiveness.
  • Support ad-hoc competitive intelligence, market sizing, and scenario planning as business needs evolve.

  • 6-9 years of progressive experience in management consulting, strategy and operations, finance, or an operating role within a high-growth technology or marketplace business.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline. Candidates from business or economics backgrounds will be considered where strong technical fluency can be demonstrated.
  • Demonstrated experience working in or with the Egyptian or broader MENA market, with a strong understanding of local commercial dynamics and the operating environment.
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering complex, cross-functional projects from conception through execution.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including the ability to independently write complex queries (joins, window functions, CTEs) to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets capabilities, including financial modelling, scenario analysis, and dynamic reporting.
  • Working knowledge of at least one business intelligence or data visualisation platform (e.g., Looker, Metabase, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis or process automation.
  • Familiarity with product analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics 4).
  • Exposure to CRM or ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, SAP).
  • Understanding of marketplace-specific metrics, including take rates, liquidity dynamics, listing economics, and LTV/CAC.
  • Sound business judgement and commercial acumen, with a strong understanding of P&L drivers and operational levers.
