Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Create detailed structural drawings using CAD software, ensuring accuracy in dimensions and specifications for construction projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and integrate design changes seamlessly into existing plans.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders, rapidly adapting to changes to maintain project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations by integrating relevant standards into all drafting activities.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for project designs, including revisions, specifications, and material lists to support project management.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates by providing precise material quantities and structural details.
- Participate in site visits to gather data and assess existing conditions, translating field measurements into actionable drawing adjustments.
- Utilize 3D modeling software to visualize structural designs and facilitate clearer communication among project teams.
- Conduct quality checks on drawings and designs to minimize errors and ensure the highest standards of professionalism.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in drafting technologies to enhance workflow efficiency and design innovation.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field is preferred for a foundational understanding of structural principles.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in structural drafting, particularly in commercial or residential construction projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other structural design software is essential for producing high-quality drawings.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) systems is a valuable asset for modern drafting practices.
- Certification as a CAD Technician or similar professional credential is advantageous for demonstrating expertise.
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations relevant to structural design.
- Excellent communication skills in English are necessary for collaboration with diverse teams and clients.
- Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of structural drawings.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in deliverables.
- Team-oriented mindset combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving enhances collaborative project outcomes.
