Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design steel structures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes (e.g., AISC, Eurocode) and project specifications to guarantee structural integrity and safety.
  • Perform detailed structural analysis using software like SAP2000, ETABS, or equivalent, to accurately predict structural behavior under various loading conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive steel connection designs, considering weld sizes, bolt configurations, and connection details, optimizing for both strength and constructability.
  • Develop clear and concise structural drawings and specifications, communicating design intent to contractors and other stakeholders for seamless project execution.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, ensuring they accurately reflect the design intent and comply with relevant standards, minimizing on-site issues.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, address design-related queries, and ensure adherence to the approved drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate steel structures into the overall project design, fostering effective teamwork.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure, demonstrating commitment to professional standards and ethical practice.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, or similar) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for accurate design and documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of steel design codes and standards (e.g., AISC, Eurocode), ensuring designs meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field, providing a strong foundation in structural principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with project teams and clients.
