Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform continuous inspections to verify the structural integrity of fabricated and erected steel structures on site.
Review and interpret approved drawings, technical specifications, and engineering data to ensure structures are constructed as per project requirements.
Inspect structural fabrication and erection activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and standards.
Verify verticality, alignment, and level of structural columns and frames.
Conduct bolt tightening inspections of steel members in accordance with approved torque/tension requirements.
Monitor and inspect welding activities, ensuring compliance with approved WPS and applicable codes.
Ensure all structures are installed strictly as per approved IFC drawings.
Prepare and maintain daily and weekly inspection reports, pre- and post-inspection reports, worksheets, and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
Maintain detailed records of inspection results, deviations, repairs, and modifications.
Review and implement QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, Method Statements, Procedures, and Checklists.
Coordinate with construction, engineering, and QA/QC teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards, including ASME and AWS D1.1.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Proven experience in the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection.
Familiarity with different welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, etc.).
Sound understanding of ASME codes and AWS D1.1.
Good knowledge of QA/QC systems, inspection procedures, and documentation control.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
CSWIP 3.1 certification (mandatory).
Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience after CSWIP 3.1 certification.
Prior experience on oil & gas or industrial projects is highly preferred.
