Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Independently review and validate structural designs submitted by EPC Contractors for compliance with international codes, safety regulations, and project-specific requirements.
- Assess material specifications, construction methodologies, and proposed sequences to ensure durability, suitability, and adherence to client expectations.
- Identify potential design and construction risks, recommending mitigation measures to protect structural safety and performance.
- Provide expert guidance on structural systems, load paths, and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with project management, quality assurance, and design teams to ensure alignment between design intent and execution.
- Advise on value engineering and design optimization while safeguarding structural integrity and lifecycle performance.
- Support lifecycle planning and asset management by integrating O&M considerations into design reviews.
- Review inspection, testing, and commissioning plans to verify structural compliance and performance.
- Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and risk assessments for client decision-making.
- Contribute to developing project-specific design standards, guidelines, and quality assurance procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters preferred).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in structural oversight, review, or advisory roles on major civil infrastructure projects (bridges, tunnels).
- Strong knowledge of international design codes (AASHTO, Eurocodes, BS, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in structural integrity assessment, risk analysis, and asset management.
- Ability to critically review EPC contractor submissions and provide independent recommendations.
- Familiarity with structural analysis tools and methodologies.
- Excellent technical communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or PPP projects with multidisciplinary teams.
