Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze structural steel construction documents (drawings, specifications) to accurately determine project scope and material requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for steel members, connections, and miscellaneous steel items, ensuring precision for cost estimation.
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates, including material costs, fabrication, erection, and labor, utilizing industry-standard software.
- Evaluate and compare vendor quotes for steel materials and fabrication services, negotiating favorable pricing and terms.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Possession of relevant certifications, such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license or related certifications, is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in structural steel estimation within the construction industry.
- Proven experience with structural steel projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
