Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Review and analyze structural drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Prepare detailed work packages for structural activities including bill of materials (BOM), work instructions, and method statements.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to ensure all required resources are available for execution.
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Monitor and update the status of work preparation activities using project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards in all preparatory documentation.
- Support construction teams by providing technical clarifications and revisions as required.
- Participate in planning meetings and provide input on structural work timelines and requirements.
- Liaise with subcontractors or vendors for structural elements or prefabricated items.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum [3–5] years of experience in structural work preparation in a construction, oil & gas, or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, steel structures, and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar design/drafting tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with project planning and documentation tools (e.g., MS Excel, MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with international standards such as ASTM, AISC, or Eurocodes.
- Previous experience in offshore, shipyard, or industrial plant projects.
