Roles & Responsibilities
The Structure / Composite Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structural components in accordance with approved maintenance data, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves working with sheet metal, composites, and other structural materials to ensure the airworthiness and structural integrity of the aircraft components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural repairs, replacements, and modifications on aircraft structural component assemblies.
- Perform composite repair including resin injection, lay-up, curing processes and precision post-repair buffing and finishing.
- Fabricate replacement parts as needed using fiberglass, resin, and other composite materials.
- Knowledgeable in the use of structural glass, epoxy, vinyl-ester, and polyester resin systems.
- Inspect and assess aircraft component structures for damage, corrosion, fatigue, wear, etc.
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, technical manuals (CMM, AMM, SRM, etc.)
- Fabricate, fit, and install structural parts using sheet metal and composite materials.
- Operate tools and equipment such as riveters, drills, shears, brakes, grinders, etc. safely and efficiently.
- Document all maintenance actions accurately in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with Method Engineers, P&C Leaders, Inspectors, and other technicians to complete work within set timelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment according to 5S methodology.
- Report discrepancies and potential safety issues to P&C Leaders promptly.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma, Apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent training with a reputable MRO/Airline or an approved aircraft maintenance organization.
- 5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance environment as an Aircraft / Component / Engine Technician with a reputable airline or MRO company.
- Preferably experienced in aircraft components including Nacelles (TR, FEC, IC, FC, Exhaust, Plugs), Radome, and FSM.
- Moderate proficient in English communication, verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
