Role & responsibilities:

Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in the design of Indoor GIS and Outdoor Open Terminal electrical substations up to 400kV. The successful candidate will lead the electrical engineering aspects of substation projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and client requirements while managing complex technical challenges in high-voltage infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Engineering

• Lead electrical design for substations ranging from distribution level up to 400kV Transmission and Distribution facilities.
• Develop Layout and Scheme design for substations consisting of equipment such as transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, busbars, Lightning Arrestors, Earthing, and Cables.
• Develop Single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for substation systems.
• Design protection and control systems, including relay coordination and SCADA integration.
• Guide preparation and Review of Cable sizing, Cable routing, Cable schedule and Interconnection schedule for HV, MV, and LV systems.
• Knowledge of Load flow, Short-circuit, Cable sizing, Earthing design and Insulation coordination studies using advanced software tools (ETAP, DIgSILENT, CYME, PSCAD or similar) is desirable.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and other relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with civil and structural teams to optimize the plot, equipment layout and overall design.
• Guide designers and CAD/BIM operators for accurate 3D modeling.
• Review Vendor drawings and Specifications for electrical equipment.
