Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
To provide safe and cost effective mechanical/electrical/instrumentation maintenance and implement necessary predictive/preventive/condition based maintenance techniques and practices to minimise equipment downtime, thus enable maximum production at minimum cost.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Supervises preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance activities that are carried out in efficient and cost effective manner with minimal downtime. Analyses data gathered from shift reports, inspections & work orders to plan and organize maintenance and repair activities for plant stoppages, down days and turnarounds. Checks and monitors that all the maintenance work performed meet with the standards approved by the Area Engineer / Maintenance manager. Investigates all repetitive equipment failures and takes remedial actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Ensures that plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with Customer Requirements, Company Policies, Procedures and applicable Standards. Coordinates with the respective Planning Engineers to recommend practical requirements into the formulation of engineering plans for the plants and liaises with operation team to keep their requirements updated.
Decides and develops maintenance plans, procedures and standards to be applied and carries out annual review of all existing procedures & standards according to recognised international standards. Establishes and maintain good housekeeping standards in workshop and plant area.
Provides adequate spare parts ensuring they are available to meet plant requirements. Plans, coordinates and helps to organize the necessary resources for maintenance activities during plant stoppages, down days, size changes and turnarounds.
Prioritises the work & allocates resources according to production needs and ensures reliability and availability of all equipment & systems in the designated plant area.
Liaises frequently with Operations personnel to monitor equipment performance effectively.
Encourages all employees to participate in the Company’s Productivity Enhancement Programmes.
Implements the Company’s training requirements, with particular emphasis on U.A.E National development.
Responsible for immediate response to any equipment failure.
Conducts regular Safety Meetings to ensure safe working conditions are sustained with all employees within the division/area, liaises with the Safety Department for advice to uphold and maintain safe working practices, performance and conditions. Implements and complies with the company’s Safety Plan and Environment Management System standards in the area.
Supervises adherence of departmental personnel to all company’s safety policies, applicable procedures, molten metal environment and Permit to Work / Hot Work / Lock–out, Tag–out permit systems. Authorises minor changes to PM & Planned Maintenance routines & systems. Initiates major changes with the approval of the Area Manager. Agrees changes to weekly PM schedules with Operations. Establishes appropriate shift coverage by Technicians thus ensuring immediate and competent response to failures. Advises the Area Engineer on other technical issues.
Sets clear and measurable objectives in support of department objectives.
Participates in company’s pathway of TPM initiative implementation in his assigned area.
Involves team members in effective participation of suggestion scheme.
Performs other related duties as directed.

As per Delegation of Authority, Policies & Procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma in relevant field
Completion of PEC Craft Training
Bachelors’ Degree in relevant field
Minimum Experience:
7 Years’ of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma
Four (4) Years’ experience after PEC Craft Training
Completion of Graduate Training
Skills:
Good knowledge of written and spoken English
Familiar with all maintenance tools and should have good IT knowledge
Exposure to installation & troubleshooting
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and manuals
Completion of First Line Management – Level 1
Demonstrates an ability to work within strict budgetary confinements and spare parts inventory control
