Roles & Responsibilities

Job Overview:

The Supervisor (Machine Shop) will be responsible for overseeing all operations within the machine shop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality production, and adherence to safety and technical standards. The role involves supervising machine operators, planning daily activities, monitoring machine performance, and coordinating with engineers and management to achieve production targets. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of machining processes, leadership ability, and experience in managing a team in an industrial or shipyard environment.

Job Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations and workforce activities in the machine shop.
  • Assign tasks to machine operators and ensure adherence to production schedules.
  • Oversee the operation of lathes, milling, drilling, and other machining equipment.
  • Inspect and verify machining work to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and functioning of all machines and tools.
  • Coordinate with production engineers and quality control teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Implement safety procedures and ensure all staff follow HSE policies.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of machine operators and technicians.
  • Monitor material usage and maintain stock of tools, spares, and consumables.
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate operational updates to management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Diploma / Bacheloru2019s Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 6uPHONE_NUMBER years of experience in a machine shop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Gulf experience preferred.
  • Strong technical background in machining, manufacturing, and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate a team of machine operators and technicians effectively.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of machining processes, machine tools, and workshop operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Good understanding of quality control standards and production planning.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, precision, and productivity.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
  • English communication required; Arabic knowledge is an advantage.
