Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Day to day supervision of the administration and implementation of all Unified Control Room Measures to ensure secure and safe operation of AD Ports Group Premises by monitoring Equipment and Personnel in a professional and efficient manner, including but not limited to, inspection, testing, modification and coordinate reporting faulty systems, recording and notifying events to internal and external governments and interested parties by ensuring integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information in accordance with the Government Approved Port Facility Security Plan and AD Ports Group Security Management System./p>

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the UCC for all the relevant shifts.

  • Takes decision inside UCC in case of AD Ports emergency and act as the first responder (communicator) to incidents at designated locations.

  • Ensure that the safety procedures, policies and rules are followed by all staff under his/her responsibility.

  • Report delays and problems promptly and take appropriate actions to correct performance and maintain established schedules.

  • Enter daily UCC activities into various data bases, logs and UCC operations management information systems.

  • Acts as a designee for the Head of UCC when required.

  • Manage schedules and workflow of the UCC

  • Must be able to work non-scheduled emergency call outs outside of assigned working hours

  • Holds UCC employee accountable through daily coaching and formal evaluations

  • Performs manual intervention and adjustment of UCC operations as required

  • Ensure daily work is conducted in accordance to the applicable regulations, rules, standards and operational procedures

  • Daily management of UCC activities and needs

  • Coordination of planned and unplanned activates

  • Responsible for providing clear and effective information to the UCC Operators

  • Responsible for issuing UCC logs and reports

  • Responsible for understanding and utilizing UCC operation policies, restrictions and plans

  • Willing to work flexibly and efficiently in support of the UCC which may include working shift rotation, nights, weekends and holidays

  • Staying current on all new technologies introduced into the UCC industries as related.

  • Preparing written reports, document defects and repairs on inspection forms, work orders or computer programs.

  • Maintaining records and preparing clear and concise reports.

  • Implement all processes and procedures in line with Security Plan, Security Management System, Security standards and compliance with all legal requirements.

  • Daily liaison with Port Tenants/Economic Investors and Security Authorities

  • Ensuring all UCC operators conduct themselves in accordance with agreed Job Descriptions, Security Work Instructions, Security Post Orders and all instructions issued.

  • Monitoring of the manpower requirement for contracted staff commensurate with Security Operational requirements.

  • Ensuring all reports are filed using the correct reporting format in accordance with security work instructions and the security management system.

  • Ensuring the confidentiality of all information obtained, stored within the control room, at all times and by whatever means.

  • Ensuring the compliance with all International, Federal and Abu Dhabi security requirements, standards and initiatives to which AD Ports subscribes to.

  • To assist with other duties when and where required.

  • Complete additional assigned tasks in timely manners.

Desired Candidate Profile

High School

Prefer diploma or bachelor degree.

Shall have knowledge of and received training as per Part B (Guidance) Sect 18.1 and 18.2 of the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

Good standard of written and spoken English

Min 3 years as security officer or related to security or control room operations

Port and Maritime Security / operations experience preferred.

Previous control room experience highly desirable

Basic knowledge and understanding of control systems and subsystems

Ability to perform assigned duty in critical situations
