Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Global Supplier Quality team ensures seamless industrialization, launch, and long-term excellence of innovative products. As a Supplier Quality Engineer for Chassis & Fasteners, you ll act as the subject matter expert from early design and supplier development to launch, mass production, and continuous improvement.
This role requires close collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and supplier networks to deliver complex designs with uncompromising quality. You ll drive scalable manufacturing solutions, robust control strategies, and proactive quality systems that support flawless execution and sustained performance.
The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and globally mobile ready to execute across NA, Asia, EU, and KSA. An innate ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is highly desirable.
You Will:
- Develop, manage, and improve PPAP re-qualification annually and Engineering changes. Be responsible for Driving and Tracking all internal ECRs and CM-PCN activities.
- Be able to work independently and make decisions in the best interest of Lucid and its business.
- Develop quality plans, design test methods and gages, identify potential failure modes and process weaknesses, and drive preventative actions.
- Work cross-functional with plant-level Manufacturing, Incoming Quality, Material Planning, and SQEs to ensure supplier quality issues are contained and Lucid plants are protected.
- Investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause, identify and implement corrective actions, and drive long-term preventative actions.
- Perform supplier audits and site inspections; develop process improvement plans and drive implementation; monitor and maintain key performance indicators and targets.
- Support system assembly build, define incoming parts inspection procedures as needed, track build issues, and drive suppliers for containment actions and long-term actions.
- Have the ability to travel up to 20% on average on a short-term or long-term basis to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally on short notice.
Desired Candidate Profile
3 years of High-volume manufacturing and assembly plant experience supporting Chassis and Fasteners in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Supplier industrialization, SQE, APQP, and PPAP experience.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and potential failure modes related to materials, manufacturing processes, and heat treatment.
- Strong leadership abilities including accountability, data analysis, dealing with difficult situations, executive communication, and budget management.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings and in-depth knowledge of quality standards and specifications in the area of placement.
- Excellent analytical abilities, technical writing ability, and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (IATF 16949, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, GD&T, etc.).
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on and data-driven, creative mindset in problem-solving.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, be part of the solution, and be able to adapt to the dynamic working environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, and Tableau is a plus.
- BS in Engineering, MS preferred or equivalent experience.
