Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for the quality performance of external suppliers to ensure product compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements in an automotive industrial environment. They are involved throughout the supplier lifecycle, from development to series production, playing a key role in quality assurance, non-conformity management, and continuous improvement of supplier performance. The position requires a high degree of autonomy in supplier management, resolving complex quality issues, and ensuring the success of the industrialization and series production launch phases.

Main responsibilities:

• Autonomously manage a portfolio of critical suppliers in an automotive industrial environment.
• Ensure the qualification, evaluation and approval of suppliers.
• Manage APQP and PPAP activities up to validation in serial production.
• Conduct supplier audits (system, process, product) and follow up on action plans.
• Manage supplier non-conformities and conduct root cause analyses (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Ensure quality escalations in case of incidents or critical situations.
• Monitor and analyze supplier quality KPIs (PPM, incidents, costs of non-quality, delivery performance).
• Securing the start-up, ramp-up and industrialization phases.
• Manage exceptions, technical changes and supplier validations.
• Participate in product/process containment and security actions.
• Collaborating with internal teams (purchasing, industrialization, production, engineering).
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the performance of the automotive supply chain.
