Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall supply chain and logistics strategy for the wood cabinets division, aligning with company goals.
  • Oversee demand planning, inventory management, production scheduling, and distribution.
  • Manage the logistics network, including warehousing, transportation (inbound/outbound), and customs compliance for domestic and international shipments.
  • Implement and leverage ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) and data analytics for forecasting, visibility, and decision-making.

Purchasing & Supplier Relation Management:

  • Lead strategic purchase for raw materials (lumber, veneers, hardware, finishes) and contract manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, mills, and logistics providers.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or ethical standards.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain, logistics, and planning professionals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.

Process Optimization & Cost Management:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and lower total logistics costs.
  • Manage the supply chain budget, analyze cost drivers, and report on KPIs.
  • Lead projects to optimize warehouse operations and transportation modes.

Quality, Compliance & Sustainability:

  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations (e.g., Lacey Act, CITES, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism - C-TPAT).
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to uphold product standards and manage supplier quality.
  • Advance sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, focusing on responsible forestry, waste reduction, and green logistics.

Risk Management & Collaboration:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., material shortages, port disruptions, demand volatility).
  • Work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure seamless operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Preferred Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations management.
  • At least 3-5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role, preferably within the woodworking, furniture, cabinetry, or building materials industries.
  • Proven experience with global sourcing and logistics, particularly with raw materials like particle boards, accessories & laminated material.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, network design, and cost reduction

Technical & Functional Skills:

  • Deep knowledgeof end-to-end supply chain processes specific to manufacturing.
  • Expertise in inventory management principles (e.g., SIOP, S&OP, JIT) in a make-to-order or configure-to-order environment.
  • Strong experience with ERP/WMS/TMS systems and advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent negotiation, contract management, and financial acumen.
  • Understanding of international trade compliance, customs regulations, and transportation law.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and sustainable/ethical sourcing practices in the forestry and wood products sector.

  • Professional certifications (CSCP, CPIM, CLTD, CPSM) from APICS or ISM.
  • Direct experience with cabinet or millwork manufacturing processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the specific challenges of transporting and storing fragile, high-value finished goods.
