Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vessel connectivity and network performance through NOC monitoring tools.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for Starlink terminals, onboard network equipment, and related services.
- Identify connectivity issues such as outages, performance degradation, and hardware-related alarms.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams following the escalation matrix.
- Log, track, and manage support tickets in the ticketing system.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of customer incidents within SLA.
- Perform initial diagnostics based on standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide first-line support to customers via email, phone, and ticketing tools.
- Assist ship crew with basic firewall checks, modem and router verifications, and configuration confirmations.
- Assist with preparing daily/weekly NOC reports.
- Support the provisioning, activation, and deactivation process for Starlink services.
- Coordinate with logistics or operations teams when hardware replacement or dispatch is required.
- Carry out basic pre-configuration tasks for Starlink equipment as per SOPs.
- Provide remote support during equipment installation or replacement onboard vessels.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Requirements
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in IT, Networking, or related field.
- CCNA or CCNP certification is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Good experience in networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, routing, NAT, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with network devices such as Firewalls,routers, switches, modems, and access points.
- Ability to perform basic diagnostics and follow standard troubleshooting procedures.
- Experience with NOC monitoring tools or network dashboards (preferred).
- Basic understanding of ticketing tools such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, or similar.
- Ability to understand and follow SOPs for configuration, activation, and provisioning tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle tasks efficiently in a 24/7 shift-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in high-pressure situations.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in NOC operations, IT support, or network technical support.
- Experience in maritime connectivity or satellite internet support is a plus, but not mandatory
