Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead the execution of research, data analysis and deliverable development for the following key activities:

  • Assess the public health needs/gaps and data collection capacity and processes within Gulf-CDC member states.
  • Collaborate with the Public Health Programs and Polices and Public Health Emergencies unit to identify disease or risk factor specific information essential to surveillance and analytics.
  • Collaborate with external IT consultants to develop a regional surveillance and early warning system for the Gulf region.
  • Work with the Manager, Surveillance and Analytics in the coordination among cross-functional teams (e.g. Knowledge Sharing and Translation, Public Health Programs & Policies, Data Governance and Policy) and Country-Level officials.
  • Support the writing of Surveillance and Analytics reports and documents.
  • Gather and analyze data for the tracking of Surveillance and Analytics key performance indicators.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification:

  • A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a Bachelor s degree or higher in the field of statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, epidemiology or related field with familiarity of disease epidemiology and surveillance.
  • Nationality of one of the Gulf-CDC Member states.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience acquired in positions relevant to the job description.
  • Strong hands-on experience and skills in project management.
  • Working experience from an international, multicultural setting.
  • Experience in IT functions within the areas of public health, microbiology and/or bioinformatics.

Competencies:

  • Expertise in the field of statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or related field with familiarity of disease epidemiology and surveillance and/or IT functions within the areas of public health, microbiology and/or bioinformatics.
  • Excellent command of English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
