Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct topographical and geodetic surveys for mining operations.

Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and 3D models using modern survey software. Carry out setting out for drilling, blasting, and excavation activities.

Carry out stockpile measurements and volume calculations.

Collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data related to mining areas.

Maintain accurate survey records, drawings, and reports for operational and statutory purposes.

Provide survey data to support production, planning, and engineering teams.

Preparing stockpile measurements and volume calculations report.

Ensure all survey works are carried out in compliance with mining regulations and safety standards.

Verify that excavation and dumping are within approved limits.

Assist in statutory reporting and submissions to government authorities.

Operate and maintain survey instruments such as Total Station, GPS, Drone, Auto level instruments.

Ensure calibration, upkeep, and proper use of survey equipment.

Implement latest surveying technologies and best practices.

Work closely with geologists, mine planners, and engineers to provide accurate survey data.

Support exploration teams with survey requirements in new mining areas.

Assist production teams in achieving targeted outputs through precise survey guidance.

Desired Candidate Profile

Diploma or Degree in Surveying or equivalent.

Minimum 8 years of work experience.

Proficiency in survey software (AutoCAD, Surpac, MineSight, Vulcan, or similar).

Strong knowledge of GPS, Total Station, Drone and other survey technologies.

Excellent analytical and spatial awareness skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work in challenging mining environments.

Knowledge of mining legislation, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
