Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct precise field surveys to establish accurate locations for overhead transmission lines (OHTL) infrastructure, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
  • Utilize advanced surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and drones, to collect and analyze data for route planning, structure placement, and ground profiles.
  • Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and drawings that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, including as-built documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to integrate survey data into design plans and construction activities.
  • Perform topographic surveys to identify and assess existing site conditions, including terrain, vegetation, and potential obstacles.
  • Stake out construction layouts and provide precise marking for the installation of poles, towers, and other OHTL components.
  • Monitor and manage survey crews, ensuring efficient workflow, safety compliance, and quality control throughout the project.
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data and calculations, resolving any discrepancies or errors that may arise in the field or office.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies during survey operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surveying technologies, industry best practices, and relevant legal requirements related to OHTL projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of OHTL design principles, construction methods, and associated industry standards.
  • Proficient in the use of surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, and drones, with experience in data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
